Who we are
Merkato LLC, doing business as Wheelhouz (“Wheelhouz”, “we”, “us”), operates this website (wheelhouz.com), BHQ (bhq.app and the BHQ mobile apps), and Discount Hunt for Shopify (discounthuntapp.com). Wheelhouz is the data controller for personal information collected through these services. Contact us at hello@wheelhouz.com.
This policy applies to all of the services above. Where a product collects something specific, it is called out by name.
What we collect
Information you give us. Your name, email address, company, and message when you contact us. Account details when you sign up for a product: name, email, phone number, company, role, and billing information. Content you put into a product, such as customers, accounts and locations, agreements, tickets, work orders, service logs, workforce records, and supply requests in BHQ, or campaign settings in Discount Hunt.
Information collected automatically. Server logs with IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. On wheelhouz.com, Google Analytics collects page views, referrers, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from IP address, which Google does not store; see Cookies below. Product usage events inside BHQ and Discount Hunt, such as features used and errors encountered, tied to your account so we can support you.
Information from platforms. When a merchant installs Discount Hunt, Shopify sends us the store’s name, domain, contact email, and the data needed to run a campaign, under the permissions shown at install time. When a shopper interacts with a Discount Hunt campaign, we process the information the merchant’s campaign collects (for example an email address entered to claim a discount) on the merchant’s behalf.
Mobile phone numbers and messaging consent. In BHQ, an administrator at an employer enters an employee’s mobile number to invite that employee to the employer’s account, and confirms at that point that the employee has agreed to receive a text message containing a one-time sign-in link. We record the number, the administrator and employer account that entered it, the date and time of confirmation, and every STOP or HELP request.
How we use it
- To provide, operate, secure, and support the services you signed up for.
- To respond when you contact us.
- To send service messages: account notices, security notifications, and, in BHQ, a one-time text message with a sign-in link when an employer invites an employee. Text messages are sent only as described in our messaging policy.
- To bill for paid plans.
- To understand how the products are used, in aggregate, so we can improve them.
- To meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use your product data to train machine-learning models.
Text messaging and your phone number
We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subprocessors for supporting services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
You can withdraw messaging consent at any time by replying STOP to any message. How consent is obtained for each messaging program, including the employer-confirmed consent used for BHQ account invitations, is described in the messaging policy.
Who we share it with
Subprocessors. Companies that process data on our behalf so we can run the services: cloud hosting and databases, email delivery, text message delivery, payment processing, error tracking, and customer support tooling. Each is bound by a contract to use the data only for the service they provide to us. A current list is available on request.
Platforms. Shopify, for Discount Hunt, according to Shopify’s partner and API terms. Apple and Google, for the BHQ mobile apps, according to their developer terms.
Legal. When required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Wheelhouz, our users, or the public.
Business transfers. If Wheelhouz or a product changes ownership, personal information transfers with it, under this policy, and we notify affected users.
Data on behalf of our customers
In BHQ, the information a contractor stores about its own customers, locations, and staff, including the mobile numbers its administrators enter to invite employees, belongs to that contractor. In Discount Hunt, the information a merchant’s campaign collects from shoppers belongs to that merchant. In both cases we process it as a service provider under our customer’s instructions. If you are a person whose data appears in a customer’s account, contact that customer first; we will help them respond.
Retention
We keep account information for as long as the account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle billing, disputes, and legal obligations. Product data is deleted or anonymised within 90 days of account closure unless the customer exports it first or law requires longer. Server logs are kept for 30 days. Messaging consent records are kept for as long as the number is on file plus four years, because carriers can ask us to prove consent.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access inside Wheelhouz is limited to people who need it to do their job, and is logged. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you and any regulator we are required to notify.
Your choices and rights
- Access, correct, export, or delete your account information from the product’s settings or by emailing us.
- Withdraw messaging consent by replying STOP.
- Opt out of non-essential email with the unsubscribe link in the message.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to complain to a supervisory authority. Write to us and we will act on any request within 30 days, or tell you why we cannot.
Cookies
wheelhouz.com uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. It sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_*) that distinguish returning browsers and sends usage data to Google under Google’s privacy policy. We do not use it for advertising or to identify individuals. You can block it with a content blocker or with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. BHQ and Discount Hunt use cookies strictly needed to keep you signed in and to protect against abuse. Discount Hunt campaigns running inside a merchant’s storefront use local storage to remember which discount codes a shopper has already found during a campaign.
Children
Our services are for businesses and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and our subprocessors may be located in other countries. Where data moves out of the region it was collected in, we rely on standard contractual clauses or an equivalent lawful mechanism.
Changes
When this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. For material changes we notify account holders by email or inside the product before the change takes effect.
